De Vlaamse regering stapt mee in het verhaal en dwingt bouwheren jaar na jaar tot een beter E-peil voor hun realisaties.
De isolatie van gebouwen is een eerste stap. Het gebruik van de juiste materialen voor muren, daken, ramen, deuren, en het verwerken van die materialen op een optimale manier moeten ervoor zorgen dat zo weinig mogelijk energie verloren gaat.
Ook het hergebruik van energie is een uitdaging. Veel beschikbare energie gaat verloren. Recuperatie, opslag en hergebruik van deze energie is dan ook een tweede uitdaging.
Vervolgens worden fossiele brandstoffen vervangen door groene energiebronnen. De rol van de overheid is hier niet onbeduidend maar ook op privévlak zal ieder van ons de nodige inspanningen moeten leveren.
Een volgende stap is een kritische kijk op de gebruikte materialen . Elk materiaal, elk toestel of apparaat, wordt gefabriceerd, geassembleerd, vervoerd, gemonteerd, gebruikt, gerecycleerd en goedgekeurd voor gebruik. Bij die verschillende stappen wordt telkens een hoeveelheid energie verbruikt en komt CO2 vrij. Het is alleen de som van deze verschillende facetten in de ontwikkeling van een product die resulteert in het aanwijzen van het meest ecovriendelijke product. ....
